On this page, you will find links to lyrics and audio recordings.  This page is by NO MEANS comprehensive, but I thought it would be fitting to at least provide a little sampling of the rich body of music that was part of the Underground Railroad experience for so many people.

Audio Recordings

• American Memory of the Library of Congress has a giant collection of rare recordings that have been digitized and put on the Internet.  Try searching through the "Southern Mosaic" collection with these search words.  (Thank you Barbara for this tip!)
• "Steal Away: Songs of the Underground Railroad" is a relatively new album by Kim and Reggie Harris.  This Web site offers notes on the songs, online audio samples, and information on ordering the CD.
