The Triumph Center for Early Childhood Education center, a
collaboration among the School of Education, the UC Davis MIND
Institute, and St HOPE Public School, is funded in part by a
grant from the First 5 Sacramento
Commission. First 5 funds programs that support the healthy
development of children ages 0-5.
The School of Education and its partners, Sacramento City College
and Washington Unified School District, founded West
Sacramento Early College Prep Charter School in 2007. The
charter school opened its doors with sixth and seventh
graders. In fall 2009, the first high school students joined the
student body to embark upon a journey that will
shape their path to college and help all of us
learn more about the power of young people
to direct their own learning.
