CRESS Center
An integral part of the UC Davis School of Education, the Center for
Cooperative Research and Extension Services for Schools (CRESS)
bridges the worlds of research and practice and builds the capacity of
teachers, leaders, schools and communities to meet the needs of California’s
diverse student body.
Building Equitable and Healthy Schools and Communities
Whether you are a school administrator, teacher, community leader
or foundation, we share with you a passion for improving the lives of
young people.
For over 20 years, CRESS has worked with teachers, leaders, schools,
families and communities to identify, develop, and promote practices
that remove barriers to student learning and foster high achieving and
just learning communities.
At the core of our work is a concern for equity. Equity is a call to
action for districts, schools, families and universities alike: significant
disparities can be alleviated, and this monumental task requires partnership,
cooperation and focus.

tackling the effects that the inequalities of race, class, language and
gender can have on student achievement. CRESS programs are offered
through on-site workshops, off-site institutes and seminars, and they can
be customized to meet the needs of our clients.
