The Edward Teller Education Center (ETEC) is a collaborative
between the UC Davis School of Education and the U.S. Department
of Energy’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL),
established to provide K-14 teacher professional development
around science and technology. ETEC is named for Dr. Edward
Teller, who was a preeminent physicist of the twentieth century
and science education advocate. Dr. Teller was the co-founder and
director emeritus of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
and professor emeritus at UC Davis.
The Edward Teller Education Center utilizes its location at the
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Center for
Cooperative Research and Extension Services to Schools (CRESS)
Center at UC Davis to bring teachers and scientists together to
develop classroom applications based upon cutting-edge research.
We recruit teacher leaders, including National Board certified
teachers, to deliver professional development and student
enrichment programs that are standards-based and include
effective instructional strategies.
