SNAP Programs and Services

Sierra North Arts Project offers in-depth institutes for teachers, a professional development program series, consultation and services to schools and inservice days and workshops.

Institutes

SNAP offers in-depth institutes for generalist classroom teachers and single subject arts teachers.

  • Collaborative Design Institute (120 hours)
  • Invitational Institute (120 hours)
  • Pathways to Understanding the Arts Disciplines Institute (75 hours)

Professional Development Program Series (PDPS)

PDPS series engage participants in standards based practice and professional reflection, and include assessment practices that lead to student achievement.

Consultation and Services to Schools

SNAP offers technical assistance to schools, districts, county offices of education, and arts organizations to improve teaching and learning in the arts.

  • Arts Education Assessment Tool (AEAT): district and school program assessment tool
  • K-12 Curriculum Development, including UC/CSU “f” courses
  • Career Technical Education (Arts, Media, and Entertainment)

Inservice

Programs for inservice days and workshop series are designed for schools after consulting with teachers and staff so that the programs reflect the school’s and county’s unique settings as well as the teachers’ needs and interests. Special attention is devoted to insuring that inservice series contain the program strands of TCAP. These strands include direct engagement with the artistic process, direct application to classroom teaching, reflection, leadership, and the TCAP strand that informs participants about recent project developments.
