This is the first year that SAYS will have a SLAM Season. Last
year, we had to turn away young poets who wanted to perform. This
year, we bring the slam into the Sacramento community so that
everyone can compete for a slot on the final stage. This years’
SAYS SLAM FINALS will be held at the Robert & Margrit Mondavi
Center for Performing Arts at UC Davis.
Each poet is performing to get the highest score. The top 6
scorers will represent Sacramento and will travel to Los Angeles
in July to be part of Brave New Voices. There will be nights of
raw and real stories from these talented youth, where the
emphasis is the poetry, not the points. These evenings will
transform lives–come and be part of this movement.
Prelims will take place April 21-24 at community venues throughout Sacramento. Register here, or call 530-752-7890.
