Local Sacramento youth want a space for their voice to heard.  SAYS, in collaboration with Sol Collective, presents Sacramento’s only Under-21 OPEN MIC.

This is a free event that is open to the general public, but only youth who are 21 years of age and under are allowed to sign up on the Open Mic.  Come out and support what the youth have to say.

Sometimes listening means everything.  Special features are selected every month to inspire the young poets to keep being creative and outspoken.  The Under-21 OPEN MIC is the first Friday of most months at Sol Collective – 2574 21st Street, Sacramento, Ca.

Here are photos of the 1st OPEN MIC in February 2010.  With a great turnout of people for the first event, we are excited to see more young talent from Sacramento finding this open mic as the place to be.

Photos are taken by Kristen Gray, who is a high school senior at Sheldon High.
