Graduate Students in Education (EdGSA)

Graduate Student Association in Education seeks to improve graduate education and student life by providing services, social events, and a forum for graduate student concerns. EdGSA members are nominated to crucial committees to represent the graduate student perspective and participate in establishing policy. Regularly enrolled graduate students in education (PhD, EdD, Masters) and professional students in the teaching credential program are automatically EdGSA members. EdGSA holds quarterly general meetings in Academic Surge. EdGSA also actively supports a Professional Development Seminar (PDS) one-unit course every quarter. For more information contact co-chairs Rosalyn Earl or Betsy Gilliland.

“We hope to create a more unified student-faculty relationship and provide students with answers to important questions,” said Melissa Salazar.

EdGSA 2008

Student California Teachers Association (SCTA) consists of college students pursuing careers as educators. SCTA provides opportunities to address the broader aspects of education such as technological advances, governmental policies and issues, social issues and philosophical controversies. Local chapters also provide professional support by facilitating conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities. For more information on the SCTA, visit their website. For more information on the campus group, contact faculty advisor Anna Kato in the School of Education.
