After arriving in the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club, we quickly discussed the plan for the day. I wanted to do a Chinese Paper Lantern activity, but I was nervous because I only had a vague idea of the structure of the lantern. Fortunately, I was confident enough to give it a try as we entered the B&G club.
With Spring break over, it’s really time for the students to start thinking about their Maker Faire projects. Since the Maker Faire is May 20th, the students have six weeks to plan their project but complete it. Although some students have had projects in mind all year, others haven’t even begun to think about it. To help the latter get a good idea, we created a fun and helpful brainstorming activity for them!
It is Spring quarter, 2018, and we are trying something new – posting week updates on the work we are doing out at our field sites – a public charter high school, and a Boys and Girls Club serving middle school aged children, both in the in the Sacramento Area. If it goes well, we will start back up in Fall 2018.
