Wheelhouse: The Center for Community College Leadership and Research is excited to welcome Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez as Wheelhouse’s Chancellor in Residence for 2020. While he leads LACCD, Dr. Rodriguez will share his time, talents and expertise as a presenter and co-facilitator for the 2020 and 2021 Institute on Leadership

Dr. Rodriguez is the chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District, the largest community college district in the nation with nine colleges enrolling 250,000 students and an annual budget of $5.8 billion. A noted scholar and education activist, his career spans 30 years as an educator, faculty member and administrator within California public higher education. Previously, Dr. Rodriguez served as president of Cosumnes River and superintendent/president of Mira Costa Community College District.            

His engagement with Wheelhouse is a homecoming of sorts, having earned his BA in Chicano Studies and his masters in community development from UC Davis. He earned his PhD in education from Oregon State University.
