Todd Harwell
Postdoctoral Scholar
Dr. Todd Harwell (he/him) is a postdoctoral scholar with the Center for Community and Citizen Science leading a project on examining the role of community and citizen science in marine protected areas (MPAs). He received his PhD in Environmental Sciences from Oregon State University where his research explored how community and citizen science programs contribute to the science identity development and community cultivation of participants with a focus on the experiences of LGBTQ2SIA+ participants. Todd has a background in marine science, environmental education, and teaching middle school through University-level science courses, and also served three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the coastal desert of Perú.
