Building District Capacity to Develop Disciplinary Literacy of Young English Learners

A five-year study funded by the Office of English Language Acquisition.

In partnership with Los Angeles Unified School District, Robla School District, and Boston Public Schools, REEd will pilot, and test a professional development initiative that engages mentors and TK-2 teachers in improving literacy outcomes for young English Learners. Current work involves designing a framework for engaging families of emerging bilinguals. The framework includes parents, teachers, and admin. Professional learning webinars and materials will be piloted in Spring 2021.
