Postdoctoral Scholar: UC Davis School of Education
At UC Davis, a postdoctoral scholar is one who trains under the direction of a (research) mentor in a substantial full-time program of advanced research and training beyond the doctoral level, in preparation for an independent career. Postdoctoral scholars may expect the opportunity for collaborative and independent research and publications as determined by mutual agreement with their mentor.
The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for:
1) Formative assessment in mathematics, current status and future developments;
2) developing and field testing a computer-based assessment and accommodation system for English language learners (ELLs); and
3) new projects related to the assessment and classification of ELLs with a disability status.
The preferred candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant field (data sciences, education, program evaluation, social research methods) and demonstrate excellence in some or all of the following areas:
Experience in project coordination of large federal grants (e.g., IRB, administrative work, writing reports, recruiting research participants, data management, working with graduate student researchers)
High level experience with quantitative statistical software such SPSS, SAS, HLM, and SEM (e.g., EQS)
Experience with survey development and electronic administration (e.g., Survey Monkey)
Excellent writing skills, particularly in areas of research report writing

Appointment Start Date/Salary
The appointment may begin as early as August 15, 2016 and would continue until August 31, 2017 with the possibility of reappointment, pending review and available funding. Salary range is commensurate with experience.
