Dr. Denneal Jamison-McClung serves as the inaugural Director of the Institute for Food & Agricultural Literacy at the UC Davis World Food Center, Associate Director of the UC Davis Biotechnology Program, and Program Coordinator of the UC Davis ADVANCE project to promote diversity among STEM faculty.  As a science educator, she teaches for the UC Davis undergraduate University Honors Program (UHP) and directs the BioTech SYSTEM, a regional consortium promoting K-14 STEM education and hosting the Teen Biotech Challenge web design competition for high school students. For over ten years, she has developed and taught “train-the-trainer” workshops for life science teachers in personal genomics and bioinformatics, aligning developed classroom activities with California state content standards for biology/life sciences. 

In the broader context of fostering science literacy across diverse segments of society, she interacts with international scientists, policy makers, media outlets, corporate and community groups.  Dr. Jamison-McClung aims to facilitate civic discussions and rational evaluation of emerging technologies, actively communicating via social media outlets, including Twitter (@yggdrasil13751) and LinkedIn.
