Learn about the UC Davis Teacher Education Program

Overview

Thank you for your interest in the UC Davis Credential/Master of Education program!

We are excited to share with you some program changes for 2027-2028. Our program will now be a four-quarter program instead of a six-quarter program, and students will earn a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree instead of a Master of Arts! We offer a multiple subject credential, single subject credentials in agriculture/agriculture specialist, English, math, science, and social science, and bilingual authorizations in Spanish and Mandarin. The 2027-28 program will start on July 19, 2027 and end on June 15, 2028.

Join us at one of our upcoming information sessions to hear from faculty and staff about the UC Davis one-year Master of Education (M.Ed.) with credential program and how it can launch your career as a teacher. You’ll learn:

  • What you need to become a teacher in California
  • The different credentials and which might be right for you
  • Prerequisites for applying
  • An overview of the program structure and activities
  • What student teaching in a K-12 classroom is like and the support you’ll receive
  • Program costs and available financial support
  • Career prospects after graduation and how the program assists with finding a job
  • How a master’s degree will help you in your career
  • How and when to apply

Information session dates are listed below as they become available.
