Chris Hoffman has served since 2014 as superintendent of Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD). The fifth-largest school district in California, EGUSD serves over 62,000 students across 68 schools. From 2009-2014, Hoffman served as superintendent to the El Dorado Union High School District, where he oversaw almost 7,000 students across eight high schools.

Hoffman began his career in 1992 as a social science teacher at Valley High School and helped open Laguna Creek High School, where he later served as vice principal. He then went on to serve as principal at Tokay High School and Mira Loma High School. Throughout his career, Hoffman has a proven track record of improved academic performance, demonstrated by a 43 Academic Performance Index (API) point gain at El Dorado Union High School District, a 62-point gain at Mira Loma High School, and a 102-point gain at Tokay High School.

Hoffman received his B.A. in social science from CSU Sacramento and his teaching credential from Chapman University. He holds an administrative credential from CSU Sacramento and the University of La Verne, where he also completed an M.A. in education.
