Nancy McTygue

Nancy McTygue has served since 2024 as the Executive Director of the UC Davis Center for Public Service and Education, which supports educator professional learning, applied research, and career diversity initiatives on and off campus. From 2005-2024, McTygue worked as Executive Director to the California History-Social Science Project, a branch of the statewide California Subject Matter Project (CSMP).  CSMP serves, on average, more than 25,000 California educators annually through its professional learning and leadership programs.

From 2012-2016 McTygue served as co-chair of the History-Social Science Subject Matter Committee of the Instructional Quality Commission, helping to lead the 2016 revision of California’s History-Social Science Framework. She began her career as a high school history and government teacher in Vacaville, California, where she taught world history, US history, American Studies, and AP government. McTygue earned her B.A. in Political Science, her Secondary Teaching Credential in Social Science and Government, and her M.A. in Education, Curriculum and Instruction—all from UC Davis.
