Evaluation of Statewide Sanctions for LEAs in Year 3 Program Improvement Status

CEES has been contracted by the California Department of Education (CDE) to evaluate the outcomes of the state’s sanctions intended to improve the lowest performing school districts’ capacity to support their students and improve student achievement. Primary data collection includes web-based surveys and interviews with district staff, technical assistance providers, and other stakeholders.  Secondary data includes: student achievement results on statewide assessments in English Language Arts and Math; CDE and State Board of Education (SBE) data and documents; district plans and reports to CDE and the SBE; and, other publically available documents such as policies and reports published by other state education agencies.
