Veronica Cuate
Single Subject Credential Student in English
The value of education never diminishes. Veronica Cuate, a Power of 10 Scholarship recipient working toward her single subject credential in English, understands the value and importance of continuing support of credential students to become effective teachers.
Cuate found the teacher education program aligned perfectly with her goals to become a teacher. When Cuate started the teacher education program in August of 2012, she knew she would be stepping into a high quality preparation program and leaving fully prepared.
As a credential student, Cuarte’s aspires “to obtain as much knowledge and experience that will help me become an effective teacher, finish the program strongly, and improve my overall self-confidence.” She recently received her student-teaching assignment at Lee Middle School in Woodland.
“Receiving the Power of 10 Scholarship means that my hard work and effort were recognized, valued, and most importantly, appreciated,” says Cuarte. The path to becoming a teacher is not always easy, and rarely does it get easier with time, but “the scholarship motivates me to work even harder at what I do,” says Cuate, “The scholarship makes me feel that anything is possible if I give it a try.”
To Cuarte, even considering a gift shows that donors see the value of education and their willingness to support future educators. Like all types of scholarships, the Power of 10 Scholarship helps students financially, but as Cuarte points out, “It also encourages us to continue our hard effort and, most importantly, inspires us to give back to the community that gives so much to us.”
