Accessibility and Social Media
Social media
There are guidelines and best practices for the creation and use of social media pages on campus. If you have an official social media presence (faculty or staff), or if you are considering establishing a social media page or account for your center or program, please refer to the guidelines below.
- The UC Davis approach
- Best practices by platform
- Naming and logo use convention
- For campus affiliated accounts, the recommended naming structure is to start the handle with UC Davis and finish with the department/group name after – “UCDavis[NAME OF DEPARTMENT]“.
- Only use “UCD[NAME OF DEPARTMENT]” if character count is an issue.
- The UC Davis official logo may not be used as the main account thumbnail or profile picture for accounts other than the main flagship channels. Departments may use their own logo lockups
Accessibility
At UC Davis, we are committed to making our programs, activities and services accessible and to providing equal opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Our campus-wide accessibility guidelines outline the rights of individuals with disabilities under university policy, federal law, and state law, and provide information about how to develop accessible materials.
