Earn teacher stipends for attending a workshop on authentic science through regional data
Please join presenters from the
Sacramento Area Science Project, UC Berkeley Museum of
Paleontology, Understanding Global Change and the South Yuba
River Citizens League (SYRCL) for an online workshop
exploring the benefits of using real environmental data to engage
your students in the process and practices of science!
In the workshop, you will have opportunities to:
- Learn how to empower your students to ask questions and engage in real investigations by analyzing regional datasets.
- Explore the import of centering the process of science in your classroom.
- Connect with participatory science project opportunities that can enhance curricula.
- Discuss challenges in using data in your classroom with workshop participants.
- Apply the workshop approaches to YOUR region and students.
All while earning a $150 stipend!
Note: You do NOT need to teach or live in the Yuba Watershed to
participate in this workshop.
Applications are due May 3rd. Space is limited.

Monday, May 6th.)
