Jonna AuCoin

Jonna AuCoin graduated with a BS in elementary education from Northern Arizona University in 1993. She earned her Masters’ in Administration in 2001. Jonna has taught in Boston, Palo Alto and Reno, NV. She has been an administrator for 12 years and is currently in her 8th year as the principal of the Lemelson STEM Academy. The Title 1 elementary school serves an amazing community with on average 450 students. 80 percent of the population are second language learners and 90 percent of the families live in poverty. Since converting to the STEM Academy, she has seen great growth in test scores, in student engagement and daily behaviors. Jonna attributes a great deal of the school’s success to their partnership with Sierra NV Journeys. Jonna lives in Reno with her three children and husband.
