OPTIONAL March 29, 2024 (field day)
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Rodman Preserve

Please note: This training is for educators working with youth in the Clear Lake region only.

The UC Davis Center for Community and Citizen Science and Center for Regional Change drafted environmental education materials to support ongoing local efforts to improve the health of Clear Lake and its watershed. Community priorities and needs informed environmental education materials that were developed as a Blue Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake-approved project. More details can be found on our project page.

The training will walk through the project goals, structure and framing of the materials, and module 1 activities. An optional field day at Rodman Preserve will highlight wetland restoration projects, outdoor resources for educators, and local natural history. More details, including the agenda, will be shared with registrants closer to the training date. Any educators in the Clear Lake region may receive training.

Compensations is available for interested educators and community members to receive training, pilot some of the materials with youth, and provide feedback. In order to receive compensation, participants must:

  1. Complete the March 30 training.
  2. Provide feedback on the training to the project team via survey.
  3. Pilot the materials with youth during April and/or May.
  4. Provide feedback on the pilot experience to the project team via survey in May or June.

We are so grateful for all of the community involvement in this project so far. It continues to be invaluable in ensuring that the environmental education materials developed for this project are reflective of the priorities and needs of the Clear Lake region. Thank you!
