Development and External Relations

Overview

External Relations and Development

External Relations and Development works to generate external support, particularly philanthropic support, for the strategic priorities of the School of Education. ER&D’s functions include development, communications and marketing, alumni relations, and government relations. ER&D supports the School’s academic programs, and its research, service, and outreach initiatives in a variety of ways, including:

  • Building philanthropic support through the direct efforts of ER&D staff, as well as by providing consultation to and support of the fundraising efforts of SOE faculty and staff
  • Working with SOE faculty and staff to communicate about their work to external and internal constituencies through print and electronic publications, as well as by facilitating contact with news media
  • Connecting SOE faculty and staff with people and organizations, including alumni, community members and potential funders, to foster collaboration and partnership in pursuit of shared goals
