Celebrating our donors and the students they support
The Dean’s Leadership Circle luncheon, held Oct. 11,
2016, spotlighted the School of Education’s most generous
individual donors, many of whom have established or contributed
to student scholarships. A highlight of the event was donors
speaking with many of the students they are supporting
through scholarships.
For over a decade, UC Davis School of Education has worked to
bring the teaching practices of Globe Education, Shakespeare’s
Globe to teachers and students in the United States, touching
hundreds of teachers, and tens of thousands of students.
Welcoming our 2017-18 Teaching Credential Students
The School of Education welcomed over 80 incoming teaching
credential students on August 4, 2017 at our multiple subject
student barbecue and orientation with an afternoon of lunch
and fun activities.
Nearly 200 members of the School of Education community—students,
faculty, staff and family—gathered at Putah Creek Lodge on
September 20, 2016 to kick off the school year and welcome our
students.

The School of Education welcomed our incoming class of over 92
single-subject teaching credential students on August 15, 2016,
with a BBQ dinner and ice breaking activities.

The School of Education welcomed our incoming class of over 80
teaching credential students on August 5, 2016, with a day of
orientation and a break for a BBQ lunch and ice breaking
activities.
On April 19th, the Graduate Group in Education invited its
faculty and PhD students to display posters of their 2015/16
conference presentations. This is a great opportunity for
students to display their enthusiasm and excitement for their
research while learning about others’ work as well.
Featured Speaker, Distinguished Educational Thinkers Speaker Series
Professor Winn will discuss the ways restorative justice
practices have the potential to change language and practices in
urban schools. Her program of research examines the intersections
of language, literacy, and youth justice.

At our October 12, 2015 Dean’s Leadership Circle luncheon, we
celebrated the generous donors who have made gifts of at least
$25,000 to the School of Education. The event was also an
opportunity to introduce donors to the students they are
supporting through scholarships.
We had a great evening at Putah Creek Lodge, UC Davis on
September 21, 2015, celebrating our incoming and current
students. Faculty, staff and students brought friends and family
and enjoyed food, lawn games and fun raffle prizes.
