In addition to preparing teachers through our teaching credential program and providing ongoing professional development for teachers, the School offers special programs to enhance teachers’ learning and teaching.
Our latest initiative, Shakespeare Works When Shakespeare Plays is a three-day conference filled with workshops for middle- and high-school teachers of theater and English. Actors, directors and producers from some of the world’s greatest Shakespeare companies and festivals led teachers in the discovery of exciting new ways to make Shakespeare come alive for their students.
Once a year, the School hosts a day-long Academic Literacy Summit for teachers with a focus on best practices and unique methods for teaching academic literacy to K-12 students.
