How to Print Your Teaching Credential

You can print a copy of your teaching credential through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). You have two options – one suitable for framing or a detailed version for your employment search.

Printing the Detailed Version of the Teaching Credential

  1. Go to www.ctc.ca.gov
  2. Click on “Search for an Educator” box
  3. Click on “Secured Search” option
  4. Enter your Social Security Number and Date of Birth, click search
  5. Look for “Preliminary Single Subject or Preliminary Multiple Subject” document and click on the document number to left of document (this is a hyperlink)
  6. Actual credential displays – right click in box (near name)
  7. Choose select all
  8. Right click again – choose “This frame” and slide to “Print frame”
  9. Detailed credential should print out

Printing a Credential Suitable for Framing

  1. Go to the Commission’s main webpage (www.ctc.ca.gov) and select the “Online Services for Educators” button
  2. Select the “Educator Page” button
  3. Enter your Social Security Number and Date of Birth, select OK
  4. Review your information — if you need to make changes select “Edit”, make any changes and then select “Save”
  5. Select the “Next” button at the bottom right of the page
  6. Select the document number hyperlink to view the document details
  7. Select the “Email Document” button — you will be sent a document to the email address listed in Step 4. There is no notification that an email has been sent to you
  8. Exit your profile by selecting the “Home” link at the top right of the screen. Your browser session will close and you will return to the Commission’s main web page
  9. Log into your email account
  10. Locate and open the email from “donotreply@ctc.ca.gov” with the subject line of “Teaching Credential – Printable Copy”
  11. Open the .pdf attachment and print it
