School of Education at NARST
We sent our largest faculty and student contingent to date to the recent National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) conference—and said hello to a few alumni there as well. Emily Harris and Cynthia Passmore gave talks, along with postdoc Abraham Lo and graduate students from the Graduate Group of Ecology. NARST is the place to be for improving science teaching and learning through research.
IN MEMORIAM: SHARON DUGDALE
We sadly regret to report the passing of Professor Sharon Dugdale. Sharon was a professor of mathematics education in the School of Education and a pioneer in researching and implementing software to enhance math teaching and learning. The generation of students whose careers are in math education thanks to Sharon’s dedicated and careful mentoring represent the best memorial for her that we can imagine. Her husband, Owen LeGare, requests that you share your remembrances of Sharon with him at email@example.com. A celebration of Sharon’s life, including a dance, will be held on May 29.
