Welcome to the School of Education marketing toolbox, managed by
the Marketing and
Communications team:
Letterhead
The
School of Education official letterhead in MS Word may be
downloaded from Box. In the same folder, you will find a
guide to the optional customized information you can choose to
add. If you would like a customized version or need technical
support, contact Eva
Guralnick.
Tips:
- When you start typing, do not start in the header area.
- If you have trouble making a high-quality PDF, use the print
feature and print to a PDF rather than saving as a PDF.
Presentation Template
As of October 2024, we have a new School of Education
presentation template for use by all faculty, staff, and
students. The template can be downloaded from Google Slides and
used either in Slides or in PowerPoint, and it already has the
official UC Davis fonts and colors embedded.
Access the presentation template here.
Zoom Backgrounds
We have multiple Zoom backgrounds
available for download from Box in both regular and reversed (for
use if you mirror your camera in Zoom). Visit
the Zoom background folder.
School of Education Logo
The School of Education logo is
available in multiple file formats and color versions. We have
provided a selection for everyday use. Go
to the Box folder of School of Education logos.
Please contact Eva
Guralnick for the correct file type if you have specialty
needs such as high-quality printing or branded merchandise. The
files we have provided in Box will not be sufficient for vendors.
We also have other color options available.
Requirements for using the School of Education logo:
- UC Davis has two different versions of the official blue and
gold, one for print projects and one for digital.
- Do not change the logo by distorting it, taking apart the
elements, redrawing it, or making it part of another logo or
illustration.
- Do not change the colors or put the logo on backgrounds with
busy patterns or backgrounds that make it hard to see. Learn
more about official UC Davis color guidelines.
- If you need to use the flame icon separate from the logo, ask
our team for the necessary file.
Branded Promotional Merchandise/Swag
We maintain a supply of School of
Education branded merchandise for giving to students, visitors,
donors, faculty and staff.
View a list of the types of items we have in inventory.
Please make your request to Sophia Meals as early as
possible, particularly if you need a large quantity, as we may
not be able to fill requests on short notice. The amount and type
of inventory will vary, and it can take 30 days or more to
reorder some items.
If your program or center has questions about ordering specific
branded merchandise, such as which vendors to work with or how to
prepare the artwork, please contact Sophia Meals or Eva Guralnick.
Website Editing and Support
The Marketing and Communications
team maintains the public-facing School of Education
website. Please contact Madeline Gorrell for the
following:
- Asking for edits to pages on the website or for new pages or
navigation to be added.
- Obtaining access to edit the website and a brief 1:1
training.
- Having a consultation on new website projects.
- Setting up a new website for a lab/project/center.
- Getting help with technical issues you’re having when making
edits to the website.
Consent to Record Form
We have two kinds of Consent to Record forms: one for a person
who is giving permission for us to photograph or film them
(English and Spanish only), and one where a parent is giving us
permission to photograph or film their child (English,
Spanish, and Mandarin versions). All
Consent to Record forms are available in Box.
Social Media
The School of Education social
media channels are Instagram, Facebook,
LinkedIn, and YouTube.
If you would like an event, story, or person to be considered for
inclusion on the School of Education social media channels,
please contact Sophia
Meals.
UC Davis provides guidelines and best practices for the creation
and use of social media pages on campus. Before deciding whether
to create your own social media platforms for your
center/program/lab/project, please review the
UC Davis “Where to Start” page and reach out to Sophia Meals to see how our
established School of Education channels can amplify your work.
UC Davis Fonts
UC Davis has two official fonts for branded UC Davis
publications: Proxima Nova and Freight Text. These fonts are
optional for internal business communications in formats like MS
Word, Google Docs, or e-mail.
Both Proxima Nova and Freight are embedded in the SOE
presentation templates and are available in our shared SOE Canva
account.
UC Davis faculty and staff can obtain these fonts for use on
other platforms here:
Proxima Nova:
Proxima Nova Normal costs $15. You do not need to purchase
Proxima Nova Condensed. Visit the UC Davis software site. Log
in, select “Fonts” on the left-hand menu, and follow the download
and installation instructions. You will need to know your
Chart of Accounts string (aka your recharge number) in order to
make your purchase.
Freight: This font
can be purchased through Adobe and is included for no additional
charge if you have the Adobe Creative Cloud software
subscription. Learn more at the Strategic
Communications Marketing Toolbox fonts page. If you do not
have Adobe Creative Cloud, you can use standard computer fonts
such as Arial or Helvetica.
For more information, contact Eva Guralnick.
UC Davis Colors
The UC Davis brand colors are available in the
Strategic Communications Marketing Toolbox, including print
vs. digital colors, rules for use, tints and the secondary color
palette.
