Teacher Job Fair 2026

Our annual Teacher Job Fair was March 14, where students and alumni had the chance to connect with local schools and district representatives. 

“The district employers were eager to interact with our teacher candidates,” said Prof. Nancy Tseng. “I heard many positive comments from our district partners about how impressed they were with our candidates and their professionalism.”

M.A. Symposium 2026

On March 7, 2026, School of Education M.A. students presented their teacher inquiry projects to their faculty advisors, and then participated in an academic poster session open to the general public. These projects examined how their teaching practices can improve student learning and were conducted during students’ first year as credentialed teachers.

Emerging Scholars Panel Highlights Role of Teachers in Educational Justice

At the School of Education’s Emerging Scholars Panel “Pushing Boundaries around the Intersectionality of Disability, Race, and Language,” three invited speakers highlighted the important role that teachers play in equitable education. Whether they’re honoring a student’s unique identity in the classroom or shining a light on racialized surveillance practices at school, teachers can bring about just and inclusive outcomes for all learners.

Graduates gathered with family, friends, faculty, and staff to recognize their hard work and step into the next stage of their careers.

UC Davis Addresses Equity at 2025 AERA Annual Meeting

Over 50 UC Davis School of Education faculty, students, and alumni attended this year’s American Educational Research Association annual meeting, addressing topics that included Hispanic-Serving Research Institutions, foster youth, and the use of artificial intelligence in English language learning.

Teacher Job Fair 2025

On March 14, 2025, the School of Education held our annual Teacher Job Fair for UC Davis teaching credential candidates and credential alumni as part of our Job Search Assistance for Teachers program. Representatives from 23 districts attended, including from districts throughout the greater Sacramento region and as far south as San Francisco.

Teaching Credential 2024 Kick Off

On Friday, August 2, 2024, we welcomed our incoming teaching credential students at the UC Davis Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. During the event, students met their fellow credential candidates, did community building exercises led by the agriculture teaching credential student cohort, talked through the program expectations and resources, had opportunities to chat with faculty and staff, and got time to meet with their cohort to prepare for the upcoming year.

Emerging Scholars: Expanding Equity in Educational Research took place at the UC Davis International Center, and featured scholars Aris Moreno Clemons, Harper B. Keenan, and Kristyn Lue.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the School of Education’s Teachers as Learners program hosted a dynamic and enriching one-day event at the UC Davis International Center. The event featured workshops led by seasoned experts, including regional educators and UC Davis faculty, designed to enhance secondary educators’ ability to foster engaging, equitable, and thought-provoking conversations among their students and to empower participants with tools and strategies to elevate class discussions, such as practical and conceptual insights, real-world examples, and interactive activities.
