Faculty support provides important seed funding
for new research and a leg up to early career scholars, helping
them to establish themselves, make connections with other
scholars, and represent their work as an integral part of the UC
Davis School of Education’s research.
Donors are invited to make an annual gift to support students and
faculty or establish an endowment. An endowed fund is invested in
perpetuity. Each year income from the fund (but not principal) is
expended, following UC Regents and UC Davis Foundation
guidelines, to support the donor’s stated purpose.
Examples of endowment funds established in the School of
Education include:
- Endowed Chairs to honor and promote the work of a
faculty member who is acknowledged as among the preeminent
scholars in his or her field, and whose work has made a
significant difference to society.
- Teacher Scholarship Awards made to graduate students
recognize and support particular accomplishments by graduate
students, graduate student-mentored teaching, and individual
research by graduate students. Can be used for travel awards
and/or research awards.
Donors can establish an endowment in the School of Education by
contacting Thomas Mackey, Managing Executive Director of
Development, at tcmackey@ucdavis.edu.
