City Nature Challenge Sacramento Crowdfund Campaign

Thank you for your support during the month of October

City Nature Challenge Sacramento Crowdfund Campaign

During the month of October, friends of the Center for Community and Citizen Science gave their support in organizing the City Nature Challenge (CNC) for the Sacramento region. We’re proud to share that we raised 92% of our goal!

The CNC is a 4-day event held annually at the end of April. Sacramento is one of hundreds of cities around the globe encouraging people to find plants and wildlife. Using a smartphone or camera, observations are documented through submission to the iNaturalist app and web platform.

The Center has co-organized the event in the Sacramento region since 2019. The crowdfund will help the Center organize iNaturalist trainings for teachers and community groups, provide supplies and assistance for bioblitz events – where people work together to find and identify as many species as possible – and expand our outreach to new partnering organizations.

We are so thankful for those in our community who donated and spread the word out about our crowdfund campaign to your contacts through email messages, social media posts, and word of mouth.

If your organization would like to support the City Nature Challenge 2024 with a sponsorship, contact Sarah Angulo, sangulo@ucdavis.edu.
