We are looking forward to our next Global CCS Collabinar! Please join us online or in-person for —
Wednesday, December 4th
from 3:00pm-5:00pm PST
Dr. Rachel Kelly from the Centre for Marine Socioecology, Tasmania will present new marine citizen science research, and we will discuss developing programs to support the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Please see below and event flyer for more details and RSVP.
Marine citizen science is expanding across the globe, but its potential links to marine conservation, stakeholder engagement and ocean stewardship are poorly understood. This Collabinar presents recent research on marine citizen science, exploring:
- the capacity to increase community awareness and support for marine conservation, and
- the range of marine citizen science projects linked to marine conservation globally.
It aims to provoke productive discussion on the future of marine citizen science, particularly in aligning projects with the aims of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).
