Parent Programs

Upward Bound encourages parents to get involved with their children’s education. We offer an orientation session for parents of new Upward Bound participants, and parents of continuing UB students receive information on college and financial aid options.

College Application Support

Seniors, ready to complete your college application? Upward Bound will be there to help you step-by-step.

Saturday Sessions and Campus Visits to UC Davis

Students in the Sacramento and Solano region can join UB on the UC Davis campus for workshops on college preparation and the admissions process. Students participate in:

  • Skill building exercises such time management
  • Sessions may include computer exercises
  • How to prepare resumes
  • How to search for college or financial aid information
  • How to gather other resources for future success
  • They’re also fun!

Summer Residential Program

This program gives students in ninth through 12th grades an opportunity to earn a maximum of 10 high school elective credits. For more information, check out the summer program details for your area (Sacramento, Shasta, Siskiyou and Solano counties).

Field Trips

Explore the world with UB’s field trips. Some regular destinations include annual leadership conferences, sporting and cultural events.

Financial Help

Students may earn a $10 stipend each week, up to $60, during the 6-week Summer Residential Program.* Program participants qualify to receive fee waivers for college applications and college preparatory exams (SAT Reasoning Test and ACT).

*Stipend dependent on program availability and may not be available every year in every region.
