Spring Catalyst

In the Spring 2017 issue of Catalyst magazine, we explore how scientific literacy spurs student civic engagement. We also introduce Dean Lauren Lindstrom, hear about a new partnership between our Words Take Wing program and the Mondavi Center, and explore the ways that having even one African-American teacher can have long-lasting benefits for African-American students. Download the magazine and read bonus content. Our Thanks to Interim Dean Paul Hastings

At a special gathering of faculty and staff in May, we thanked Interim Dean Paul Hastings for his year of service to the School of Education. Hastings stepped down from his position as Chair of the UC Davis Psychology Department to help the School make the transition to a new dean after Founding Dean Harold Levine’s 15-year tenure.
