The Education Career Chats Series provides UC Davis doctoral students an opportunity to learn from individuals who earned doctoral degrees in education and landed jobs outside of academe. Speakers will also share information about potential internship and job opportunities within their workplaces and other organizations. Hosted by the School of Education and Graduate Group in Education.
About the Speaker
Dr. Gloria M. Rodriguez is a
professor and associate dean of faculty affairs at the UC Davis
School of Education. Her current research explores notions of
educational investment that reflect efforts to build upon
community strengths in order to address community needs within
and beyond educational settings. Dr. Rodriguez also engages in
research that focuses on the political economic conditions and
educational trajectories of Chicana/o/x–Latina/o/x communities,
other communities of color, and low-income populations in the
U.S.
Dr. Rodriguez joined the UC Davis School of Education faculty as an assistant professor in 2004, and was previously an assistant professor at CSU East Bay. She earned her PhD in Education: Administration and Policy Analysis with a minor in Organizational Studies from Stanford University, her MPA at Columbia University, and her BA in economics at UC Santa Cruz.
