Collaborative Research and Education in Agricultural Technology and Engineering (CREATE REU)

This 3-year program provides intensive summer training in laboratory science and scientific ethics for undergraduate students. The evaluation is focused on the question: “Do residential experiences in team-based research labs increase undergraduates students’ interest and success in bio and ag engineering degrees and careers?” The goal of the program is to provide students who may otherwise not have access to state of the art research laboratories with quality experience, information and support for applying to STEM related graduate programs, and enhanced appreciation for the sciences as a career area. Data sources includes web-based surveys, interviews, observation, and secondary collection.
