UC Davis event to celebrate diversity in children’s books

Joyce Carol Thomas, an African American poet, playwright and children’s author, will be the guest speaker on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the UC Davis School of Education’s annual Words Take Wing event celebrating diversity in children’s literature.
Thomas will deliver two presentations, both open to the public, at 10 a.m. in Freeborn Hall and at 7 p.m. in the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. Both locations are on the UC Davis campus. Tickets are $15 for the general public, $7 for students and can be purchased through the UC Davis ticket office or at the door.
