Vision

To provide high quality mentored research experiences to increase participation in STEM pathways for all learners.

Mission

To provide a summer residential research opportunity to high school students in order to introduce high achieving students from all backgrounds to university level research and a mentored experience to university life.

The Young Scholars Program accomplishes this mission by

1. Collaborating with esteemed research faculty and providing trainings on best practices for working with high school youth
2. Introducing students to college level academic expectations and providing scaffolded tasks to build student capacity
3. Providing social-emotional skill building opportunities to prepare students for independent living and learning
4. Targeting outreach to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage in science enrichment programing.
