The Teaching ELD Through Science Teacher Institute, co-facilitated by Amy Robinson, Program Manager for Language and Literacy at Solano County Office of Education, and Peggy Harte, Youth Education Program Manager at UC Davis Center for Community and Citizen Science, is a two-day event spotlighting professional development focused on enhancing English language learning through science instruction. This event is designed for middle school designated ELD teachers, science teachers, English learner specialists/coordinators, and administrators. The sessions will cover effective pedagogy, planning tools, and materials that support language acquisition and promote equity for English learners in both ELD and science classrooms.
