Anne Jones
Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Community Partnerships
Anne Jones is the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Community Partnerships for the School of Education. She provides leadership, planning and management of programs and services in all areas relating to student services, school partnerships and K-12 youth programs, creating and overseeing services that promote student and academic success. As a key advisor to the Dean and member of the Senior Leadership team, Jones plays a central role in student and academic program planning, policy setting, outreach, strategic planning, organizational development, and risk management. She also provides administrative oversight and leadership for all School of Education K-12 programs, including federally funded College Opportunity Programs, Young Scholars Program, and other education programs in partnership with public schools and the University, works directly with the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Instruction to supervise and support academic program administration, and oversees the work of the School’s Marketing and Communications unit.
Previously, Jones served as the Assistant Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff, Office of the Provost at UC Davis, and as Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor in the Division of Student Affairs at UC Berkeley. She began a four-year term as a member of the Committee on Accreditation for the Commission on Teacher Credentialing on July 1, 2024.
Dr. Jones has held several other leadership positions within the University, including Chief of Staff to the Provost and Executive Vice President at the University of California Office of the President, and her previous campus roles include Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Director of Education Programs for University Extension at the University of California, Riverside; Assistant Dean and Director of Teacher Education at UC Riverside; and Multiple Subjects Program Coordinator at UC Irvine.
Dr. Jones holds a California Professional Clear Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential and master’s degree in teacher education from UCLA, and a doctorate in educational administration granted jointly from UCLA and UC Irvine. Her research interests have included performance assessment for pre-service teachers; the effect of accommodations on standardized test scores for English learners; and analyzing data to evaluate effective teacher education programs. Her work in these areas has been presented at the American Educational Research Association. Dr. Jones has worked with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) in several leadership capacities, including as co-chair for the Committee on Accreditation, and served on the Board of Directors for the California Council on Teacher Education. Her most recent publication is titled “Bilingual Education as a Professional Responsibility for Public Schools and Universities.”
