California Institute for School Improvement held a free and public webinar on Thursday, December 8, 2022, focused on Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR)—a strategy to support youth learning and development and strengthen institutions and communities.
Led by Brandon Louie, director of community engagement at the UC Davis Center for Regional Change, and hosted in partnership with the REEd Center at UC Davis, this one-hour webinar is geared toward principals, teachers and district leaders.
Whether you are new to YPAR or have YPAR projects underway, consider watching. Viewers will learn about YPAR’s potential benefits and explore considerations for launching a YPAR effort in their own school and/or district through:
- examples of previous YPAR projects in primary and secondary education settings including classrooms, OST programs, district offices and university-school partnerships
- an orientation to Community Futures, Community Lore—a free online resource to support YPAR developed by the UC Davis School of Education and Center for Regional Change
