Hot off the presses: Youth-focused Community and Citizen Science Convening Report!
Back in May, we brought together educators, program leaders and researchers in a day-long exploration of effective practices for youth-focused community and citizen science (YCCS) and resources needed to support them. The Convening was an exciting opportunity to shape the field and bridge research and practice. One of the goals for the day was to establish a collective understanding of what constitutes high-quality practices for YCCS and to explore how to both foster and scale up these practices. Participants made valuable contributions to our work on tool-kits for practitioners, and engaged in reflection, networking and forging future collaborations.
The Convening was rich with engaging conversations, reflections and “ah-ha” moments, which we have compiled into our Convening Report. The Report includes notes and graphics from our conversations and highlights our takeaways and next-steps. It is a great place to learn more about YCCS as a field, where it stands today and where it is heading. YCCS has great potential for making a positive impact on science as a whole, and we are so grateful to our partners for helping us do so. We hope you will take a look at the report here.
