Rental Orders

Graduates are required to wear official regalia. Visit UC Davis Cap and Gown Rentals to learn about rental deadlines and pricing and the Herff Jones website to order.

Gowns and Hoods

Credential candidates should order the bachelor’s degree cap and gown, but no hood (choose “Undergraduate/Bachelor” from the first-page drop-down menu). If you hold a higher degree than bachelor’s, graduates should order the regalia for the highest degree you hold. Further instructions for credential students.

Master’s candidates may order hoods with their cap/gown and wear them in the School of Education graduation ceremony (master’s candidates may participate in the Graduate Studies commencement as well, however they will not be “hooded” on stage at either ceremony). Hood color: White

PhD and EdD candidates may order hoods with their cap/gown and wear them in the School of Education ceremony; however they are “hooded” only at the Graduate Studies commencement. Hood color: Phd – Dark Blue, EdD – Light Blue

Gown and Hood Return

Collection stations will be located at Mondavi Center approximately ½ hour before the end of the School of Education graduation until approximately 1 hour afterward. Gowns not returned either after a ceremony or to the Bookstore Annex, Memorial Union by the Monday following the ceremony weekend will be subject to late return fees, beginning at $5.00 and increasing by $5.00 each week to a maximum of $20.00.
