We at the Beta Lab investigate the nature of learning that occurs during extended, youth-driven maker projects, and we design learning environments and tools to support learning through making. We designed and built a mobile maker studio to expand access to underrepresented and underserved student populations. We use making as a context for the development of adaptive expertise.
