Resources for Undocumented Students
It is a tremendous accomplishment to matriculate to graduate school/professional school as an undocumented student. We celebrate your efforts and want you to know that you are not alone on your journey.
There are several resources we offer to support undocumented students during graduate school:
- Free immigration legal services: All enrolled UC system students can access free immigration services for themselves and immediate family members (parents, siblings, spouses, children) through our UC Immigrant Legal Services Center (UCIMM). Services offered include intake screening to assess which existing forms of relief immigrants folks may qualify for, DACA application assistance, green card petition support, know your rights information (work, travel, etc.), Advance Parole applications, and much more. Email ab540-undocumented@ucdavis.edu to receive a referral to these services.
- Financial resources: our campus’ AB540 and Undocumented Student Center has compiled a list of financial resources for undocumented students both internal and external to their office. Resources accessible to undocumented law school students include food vouchers, the Graduate/Professional School Student Support Award, emergency grants for basic needs, USCIS filing fee support, and more.
- You can engage more with the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center by following them on Instagram and signing up for their email newsletter. You can contact the Center’s staff directly via email at ab540-undocumented@ucdavis.edu.
- The Undocumented Graduate Student Union is a registered student organization on campus holistically supporting undocumented graduate/professional school students and advocating for more equitable educational experiences for the community.
