Our Job Search Assistance for Teachers program offers job search assistance to our credential candidates as well as support to the employers who seek to hire our candidates.  Referred to as JSAT, the program is supported by Teacher Education faculty, staff in Student Services, our partners at the Internship and Career Center, alumni of our program, and administrators from local school districts.

For Teacher Candidates:

Beginning in their Winter Quarter, credential candidates are provided a series of events and services to support them as they begin their employment search.  The JSAT process provides guidance and support on a wide variety of issues involved in a job search, such as: 

• Resume and cover letter preparation through written examples and in-person assistance
• How to establish a profile and apply for positions via  Edjoin (the premier education job website)
• Interview tips and practice questions
• Practice interviews with local district employers where verbal and written feedback is provided
• A hiring Job Fair exclusively for UC Davis trained teachers
• Weekly employment emails informing candidates of recruitment events and notices of job openings

For Employers:

If you would like to hire a UC Davis trained teacher, we offer the following services to assist you:

• Send us your notice of job fairs so that we may share them with our credential candidates. Send to: credentialanalyst@ucdavis.edu. 
• Beginning in early March, send us your job openings so that we may share them with our credential candidates. It is helpful for you to provide information on your community, why they should consider your district, and next steps in the process if they are interested. Send to: credentialanalyst@ucdavis.edu.
• If you would like to be considered for the 2023-24 Job Fair, please e-mail credentialanalyst@ucdavis.edu. Participation in the Job Fair is limited and invitations are  offered to our partner districts, districts from a variety of geographical locations, and districts who hire our students. Consideration is given to other districts based on space availability. Each year, we also review student feedback after the fair and evaluate our attendee list for future events.
